FOTD: Shimmering Suede Tutorial

I wanted to use one of my favorite MAC pigments and that's Blue Brown pigment. I was really hoping for the blue to show through, but because I added a bronze base it completely took that out. It's okay though because I'm really loving the warm red tones of the brown in this pigment. I think if the blue showed up, I would have loved this look a lot more. Anyway, I'm also wearing G&G circle lenses which I'll be reviewing soon along with other lenses. :)

Sultry Golden Bronze and Gunmetal Eye Makeup

Here's a smokey eye using some limited edition/discontinued pigments that I've had for a while now. Don't be discouraged because all of these colors can be easily substituted. All you need to achieve this look is a gold, bronze, and any dark gray or black eyeshadow will do.

For the first time in almost all my looks, this one was difficult to capture in a full face shot. For once this look actually looked better up close than far away. Also, the lashes were really stubborn. I paired 2 different lashes on top of each other and it was just really thick and heavy to work with even though I love how full and fluttery they look. So please don't mind the uber wonky looking lashes. I promise, it looked better in person! Nonetheless, enjoy! :)

□ Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer

□ Combination of 2 pairs of lashes (unknown)

Look Using Earth Goddes Minerals

I love mineral makeup. There's just something about their versatility that I love! I also notice that sometimes mineral makeup comes up with the most amazing colors and you're just wondering why nobody has ever come up with such a color before. That's how I felt when I received a few samples of Earth Goddess Minerals. I fell in love with so many of the colors and the possibilities are just endless because of the amazing color variations that they have.

Earth Goddess Minerals is a vegan and gluten free line of makeup, created for women who have allergies and sensitivities to mainstream makeup. All of their Multipurpose Minerals have a few uses such as:  when mixed with clear gloss can be a lip gloss, can use as blush, mixed with purified water can be liquid eyeliner, etc.

The Many Uses Of Helium Pigment

I've had MAC's Helium pigment for over a year now. Maybe two years. And I haven't really used it. I think it's such a difficult color to work with because it's so vibrant yet really sheer and also really really shimmery.

The best you can do is to probably top it off on to some pink eyeshadow just to add extra shimmer or you can apply it wet to really bring out it's vibrancy.
Here are different ways that I like to use Helium pigment.

EYES

UDPP as primary base
MAC Bare Study p/p as a base
MAC Helium pigment all over lid applied wet & topped off dry
MAC Pandemonium e/s on crease
MAC Carbon e/s on outer corner
MAC Cloudbound e/s as highlight

Quick Pigment Swatch

Jane B. sent me an e-mail asking if I could do a quick swatch of MAC's Viz-A-Voilet pigment & Revved-Up pigment. So here you go Jane, this is for you.
  • Viz-A-Violet is described as a mid tone violet with blue and red pearlized pigments (frost). Released as part of the Balloonacy limited edition collection that came out in March 2007 I think.
  • Revved-Up is described as an icy rose with reflects (frost). Released as part of the Rushmetal limited edition collection that came out in July 2007.
