Tina Marie's Current Summer Face

I wanted to share with my readers what my current foundation is during the summertime and all the necessities that I need to keep my foundation in place. It gets pretty hot where I live and that last thing I want to do is wear my high-end foundation when it's just going to eventually melt off my face. These products have so far lived up to my expectations and I hope it does for some of you.

My skin type: oily/combination (oily on my nose and forehead, dry on my cheeks)
Disclaimer:  Please be aware that these products may work well for my skin, but it may not work as well for others.

Products from left to right:
Oil Off Paper. Also known as oil-blotting sheets. You can pretty much use any brand you like. I hear Starbucks napkins and those disposable toilet paper seat covers work just as great! I bought this particular one at Mitsuwa. This works great for me because over time, my nose gets extremely oily in this heat. So it's important that I touch up with an oil-blotting sheet just to remove any excess oil on my face. Remember to blot, not wipe to keep your makeup in place!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation. I'm a W6 (Sun Beige) in this foundation. It matches my skin suprisingly well even though it looks dark when I swatch it on my hand. This foundation is great because it's lightweight, it's inexpensive, and it has SPF of 17. This also has great, buildable coverage without the look and feel of it being cakey.

Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. In Translucent. This is by far my favorite setting powder. It beats my MAC MSF Natural. I can't even begin to tell you why I love this product. Not only does it completely set your entire makeup but it makes your face absolutely flawless. It makes your pores less visible, it gives you a nice smooth finish on top of your makeup, and you can easily powder this on over your blush and it won't budge your makeup at all. I used to use Bare Minerals Mineral Veil but ever since I came across this loose setting powder, I don't even think twice about using anything else to set my makeup. This is definitely a must-have if you want your makeup to last all day.

Sonia Kashuk Tinted Moisturizer. I chose the shade in Linen, although I would've picked Beige as well. I somehow leaned more towards Linen. Both shades blended well into my skin and considering that these were tinted moisturizers, I didn't expect too much coverage. But I realized that this particular tinted moisturizer is very buildable. I really like how this tinted moisturizer blends into my skin. It almost blends in flawlessly. A tinted moisturizer is a really good alternative to using foundation because it's not has heavy as your typical foundation and yet it's definitely buildable. I really like this tinted moisturizer because it has SPF 15 so I could be comfortable using this for a day out and not look crazy with a face full of heavy foundation.

What is your current Summer Face?

LOOK: Strawberry Shortcake

Today's look reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake. I was never a huge fan of her but she is adorable! I didn't create this look with Strawberry Shortcake in mind. I was just pulling different colors together and in the end, it reminded me of her. The green reminds me of her socks and part of her hat, the brown on my eyelid reminds me of her shoes and the pink is obviously everything else! I hope you like it!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Model 21 Eyelashes

If you know me, then you know I LOVE false eyelashes. I love wearing them on a regular basis because they're fun and it makes all the difference when you're doing makeup looks. With lashes, the more dramatic the better! Well, to a certain extent. But I do prefer fuller, longer lashes rather than my own natural lashes.

I'm not all about choosing brands when it comes to false eyelashes. If it looks good, I'm wearing it! That's just how I am. Model 21 lashes have a variety of lashes to choose from for a great price. And considering that you could wear certain lashes more than once, you could never run out of these. All of Model 21 lashes are 100% handmade out of real hair (black hair-like fibers for the more dramatic lashes).

OVERALL RATING: 5/5

OVERALL:
I'm not at all picky when it comes to lashes. I would wear lashes of any brand as long as they came out looking good. These lashes are definitely comparable to popular brand lashes such as Ardell, Andrea, Red Cherry, Bliss, etc.

I love the fact that the band of the lashes (the part that holds all the hairs together) is very flexible. Some lashes make their bands too thick and it makes the lashes harder for it to stay on my lash line. Other lash bands are too thin, making it too flimsy beyond my control. These are perfect.

These lashes also blend really well with my natural eyelashes. They're light, easy to apply, and there's no need for trimming.

One thing I'd have to say that could probably bother other people is the packaging. I personally don't have a problem with the packaging but to other people they might not prefer it this way. But overall it's not a huge problem.

Another thing is the tape that the lashes stick to on the box is very sticky so I suggest using tweezers to remove them otherwise the hairs can be pulled and you could ruin the look of them. So delicate hands are needed!

A Starry Midnight Sky in the Forest

Haha I know right? My title sounds like it should be the title of a poem or something. I just didn't want go with your basic "Smokey Green With a Hint of Purple & Yellow" title. Anyway, I know this look is super dark and smokey, basically everything that doesn't scream summer. I just really wanted to use my all-time favorite pigment (Forest Green) and there's really no better way to use it than with a smokey eye. Hope you all like it!

4th of July Inspired Look + Red Eyebrows?

Happy 4th of July! The 4th is coming to an end so I hope everyone had a fun and safe Independence Day. Mine was not what I expected. Completely disappointed and frustrated. But that's a different story that you'd most likely find here. Overall I hope you all had a good time celebrating with good company without forgetting why we even celebrate this holiday in the first place! So to all my Americans out there, appreciate your freedom and embrace it! It is the anniversary of our independence!

Alright well enough of that! I decided to do a July 4th inspired look but a little different this time! As you can see my eyebrows are red! Yeah I did go out like this with my red eyebrows. Obviously they're pretty wearable, nothing too drastic! I like the fact that it matches my hair color. How would you guys feel if I wore this out on a regular basis? Haha. I probably wouldn't wear it on an EVERYDAY basis, but it is something fun to do!

This was obviously taken before putting on my lips and getting dressed. Hehe (:
