LOOK: Smokey Teal with a Pop of Red + Tutorial

This look is actually an inspired and recreated look of YouTube Guru Jazziebabycakes' Painted Lady tutorial. She's super talented and I'm a huge fan of her work and when I was browsing through her videos I fell in love with this so I decided to do my rendition of it. I think it came out a little bit sloppy (compared to hers). It was really late and my eyes kept watering but I kept going! I had a lot of fun doing this look because it's definitely something that I'm not used to. But it's nice to step out of my comfort zone every now and then. :) Thanks for reading! Enjoy! :)

Beyonce "Countdown" Official Music Video Inspired Makeup

A Youtube guru by the name of BEATFACEHONEY did a look inspired by Beyonce's Countdown video and I fell in love with it so I decided to recreate it in my own way. I thought this look would be fun to do and since Halloween isn't too far from now maybe some of you can get inspiration for how you want to do your makeup. The yellow really makes the look stand out but you can definitely substitute the yellow for another fun color. I think a bright green or a hot pink would look so fierce with this look! Anyway I hope you all enjoy. Thanks for reading! :)

Quick Post: Inspired EOTD

I did this look merely for fun because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone because it's been a while since I pulled off a bright color like this. I was really inspired by Fashionista804 on YouTube. I'm not sure what she used exactly but I just decided to use whatever shadows I had on hand. This was taken on my iPhone through the Instagram app (Follow me! Username: damnyoufine). The blue came out really bright and I almost didn't want to walk out my house with it on because it's just been so long since I've done something like this. But I thought that if other people were brave enough to do it then I should too. What better way to express my love for my makeup than to go bold, right? Anyway, I just thought I would share it here as well since I really like how it came out. :) Sorry I don't have any real pictures to show off this look. I really didn't plan on blogging about it.

Products Used:
Blanc Type on the entire lid
MAC Off the Radar pigment [LE] applied to the crease (any burnt orange color will work)
MAC Coppering eyeshadow applied right over the orange to give it more warmth
Urban Decay Electric eyeliner applied to the lower lash line and lower waterline
Inglot #371 matte eyeshadow applied on top of the liner to set it
Wet N Wild Creme Liner
False eyelashes from Bornprettystore.com Style #004

Chola Eyebrows - The New Me, Take it or Leave it!

I shaved off my eyebrows!

 Happy (early) Halloween!
Before you jump into conclusions, I did not actually shave off my eyebrows. See what the power of makeup can do?! :D

This look was inspired by the chola look. A chola is a Hispanic female gangster that wears this style originated in LA. She has thin, high arched eyebrows, nude lips, dark lip liner and heavy eyeliner. Hope you like my rendition of it. :)

PS: This was not intended to insult anyone whatsoever. I did this simply for fun.

TUTORIAL: YSL Yves Saint Laurent Promo Picture Fall 2009

Thanks to those who have voted on my poll. If you haven't already, please vote! The votes are neck and neck and I'm surprised to see how close the results are to each other. I guess that's what I get for allowing people to vote for more than one of the choices. But please do vote if you haven't already. This can really help me decide on what looks to do in the future. (=

Anyway, I received an e-mail from a reader and she requested that I do a make-up look from the YSL promo picture that is coming out this Fall 2009. I was thinking of doing a look today anyway but I wasn't sure what look to do so I'm glad I was requested to it.

Here's my take on the look. I know mine turned out more smokey than in the promo picture. I really did try to replicate it. But I hope this gives you a sense on how to create this look in case you decide to do the same.

TUTORIAL: Style Warrior Inspired Look

I decided to make an attempt to recreate a face chart look from the Style Warrior collection from MAC. Of course, mine didn't turn out nearly as well as the face chart but I tried. I also didn't use anything from this collection. Looking at the colors on their website, I realized that their eye shadows could be easily duplicated so that's what I did.

Now on to the tutorial....
After applying a base (I used UDPP), then apply a yellow eyeshadow to your entire lid.
I used MAC Chrome Yellow.

Next I applied Going Banana's LE eyeshadow over Chrome Yellow to give it nice satin look to it.

It should look something like this.

Next, take a purple eyeshadow (I used MAC Purple Haze) and using a small eyeshadow brush, apply it to your crease.

It should look something like this.

Next, take a dark purple/plum color (I used MAC Fig 1) and using a crease brush or a blending brush, blend it onto your crease. I also applied this color to my lower lashline.

I took MAC Fab & Flashy LE eyeshadow and applied it to the outer part of my lid.

It should look something like this.

Take any choice of a highlight color and apply it to your brow bone. I just used a random off white color.

Using a black eyeshadow and a pencil brush, I applied it to the crease and the outer lower lash line to make the crease more definitive.

This is how it should look by now.

Next, I took MAC Juiced eyeshadow and blended it above my crease to get rid of any harsh lines.

Apply your choice of mascara, eyeliner, and false eyelashes.
