My Current Nail Polish Remover

Milk Flavor Nail Art Polish Remover Nail Enamel Remover
Price: $9.16 USD
Capacity: 150 ml

If you're like me then you probably change your nail polish several times in a month. I get tired of my nails even after 3 days of wearing nail polish! So I thought I would share with you my current nail polish remover from Born Pretty Store. I usually use drugstore nail polish remover since I'm not that into buying expensive nail care items. I mostly look for items that get the job done.

This particular nail polish remover is quite different than what you typically use to remove your polish, but it works! The consistency of this is, what it claims to be, like milk. It has a pleasant coconut scent to it so you don't have that harsh acetone smell. It leaves a greasy residue on your fingers which to me was pretty odd at first. I didn't like that oily feeling but at the same time it helps to nourish your nails rather than exposing it to harsh chemicals. So after I remove my polish I always wash my hands otherwise you're going to have greasy fingers.

I wouldn't say this polish has any huge differences in its performance next to other nail polish removers. I have had better, but like I said it gets the job done! I do find that I don't have to scrub my nails as much as I would with regular nail polish remover. That's a good thing because I hate scrubbing nail polish off my nails which can be a little damaging to the cuticles.

Overall, it's a good product that I'll continue to use until I run out but it's not something to go crazy over. I would recommend it if you want to try something different or if you dislike the harshness of acetone.

Matte & Crackle Nail Polishes From Born Pretty Store

So we all know how much matte and crackle nail polishes have made their way into the nail game for quite some time now. Some of us jump into the hype and some of us don't. I obviously like to know what's hot and what everyone is wearing because I want to be up to date about these things! Especially if it's something that's really eye catching. You can find these nail polishes at Born Pretty Store along with many other things. If you haven't checked out their website yet then I highly suggest you get to it soon.
When I received these nail polishes I tried to refer them back to their website so I can link my readers in case anyone would be interested in them. The problem is that their nail polish section isn't really categorized under brand names, rather their finishes. So if you visit their website and search under matte nail polishes or crackle nail polishes then you'll be able to find them. I will provide links to where you can find the nail polishes on their website.

I can't really describe this color but it's really pretty and it's different from a lot of nail polishes that I have. The website describes it as a shimmery gold but to me it's more on the shiny silver side with a touch of a rose color when it catches the light. It's really bright and metallic however it takes a while to dry on it's own. It's also a little hard to remove but it lasts all week.

Crackle Nail Polishes

I'm still getting the hang of crackle nail polishes. It's really a hit and miss when you apply it because you're not sure if you're going to get the best crackle on the nail. It took me about two tries to get it right. You can see that on some nails it crackled really well while for some it didn't crackle so much. The reason is you have to apply just the right amount of polish to get a good amount of crackle. For best results I suggest a thin, even layer. These particular crackle polishes are also extremely difficult to remove! I spent a lot of time trying to remove every last residue of the polish and trust me, it took a lot of work! You can also see around the tip of the nail the way the crackle is really thin and close together. Those are typically the areas that chip off the fastest after a day or two. TIP: Apply crackle polish on top of a fresh manicure. I applied crackle nail polish on top of a few days old manicure and the crackle polish just flaked off. Top it off with a top coat for longevity.

Matte Nail Polishes

The matte white polish is your basic stark white color. I thought it was a little TOO matte, if that makes sense. It looked a little bit chalky and streaky but would look great with a shiny top coat, which would basically defeat the purpose of a matte nail polish haha. The pinkish purple matte polish was really gorgeous. It's a matte polish but because it had shimmer in it, it looked more like a velvety-satin finish which I thought was really nice.

Product Review: Incoco Dry Nail Applique + Tutorial

I've heard of self-stick nail polish strips but I never really looked into them until now. I have to say that these are a life saver! No more waiting for your polish to dry, no more spills, and no more dents in your nail polish As it states, these self-stick nail polish strips are the new revolution in nail polish! And what's great about it is that it's not even cheap, generic made nail polish. It is real nail polish in a STRIP! This new revolution of nail polish makes application so much easier and faster especially people like myself, who do NOT have the patience to wait for nail polish to dry. That's why I always have dents and smears in my polish and that's not cute!

Incoco Dry Nail Applique is a 3-in-1 manicure that provides a base coat, color coat, and top coat. They provide different shades and not only are there colored manicures but they also provide french manicures, glitter manicures, glitter french manicures and colored french manicures. Each packet comes with 2 strips, one for each hand, which gives you different sizes to help determine which one will fit your nail bed. I also thought it was really nice that regardless of which one you choose, you will always have leftover and with the leftover you can use it to accent one of your fingernails to add a little more glam to your manicure! For example, adding one to your ring finger to make your nails stand out even more.

Overall, it's a great product for people who are on the go and don't have time to sit and give themselves a full manicure. It takes little effort to apply and since there is no drying involved, it is really ideal for people who just want a quick application that will last you for over week. I generally had my manicure on for about a week only because I felt like changing things up with my nails. But I know for sure that if I had left it in longer, the nailpolish would have withstood a few more days. I hardly ever noticed any chipping or peeling of nailpolish which I was afraid of happening. But it lasted quite well.

For removal, you can use your basic nailpolish remover or what I thought was really fun, was I used Incoco's Instant Nail Polish Remover. You just stick your fingers into the holes and twister your finger around and it comes out so easily!

I love the blue glitter with zebra print!

How I apply Incoco Nail Strips

Step 1. Separate the sizes and find one that fits your particular nail bed.

Step 2. Peel off the blue plastic cover

Step 3. Peel off the polish strip and break off the end (I forgot to take a picture of this step)

Step 4. Place the polish over your nails and smooth it out.

Step 5. With your other nail, use it to break off the excess.

Step 6. File the tips of your nails to smooth out any rough edges.

Looks a little bit sloppy but it was my first time and to me it came out pretty nice!

Before anyone asks, no these are not my real nails.
But what's great about Incoco is that you can use them on both your real and fake nails.

Here they are on my real nails.

Eyeko Nail Polish - Review, Swatches and Photos

*NOTE: I have really horrible nails and cuticles at the moment so please don't remind me! I'm currently aware of how they look right now. D:

Top Row: Coral Polish, Vampira Polish, Punk Polish
Bottom Row: Chi Chi Polish, Saucy Polish

Eyeko polishes are amazing! I was so excited to try these out because I've heard nothing but great things about their polishes. I was very surprised with the pigmentation and the lasting power of these. Also, they come in really unique packaging and cute names. The polish itself is pretty thick in consistency but with one coat, the color comes off really opaque which is what I love about these. You can easily get away with one coat of their polishes. Two coats is more than enough and three is really pushing it! The only polishes that required two coats were Chi Chi Polish and Vampira Polish.

AVAILABLE AT: Eyeko.com
SIZE: 8.5 ml (0.30 fl oz.)
VALUE FOR PRICE: 5/5
EASE OF USE: 5/5
PACKAGING: 4/5
MEETS EXPECTATIONS: 5/5
OVERALL USE: 5/5

PROS:

Creamy consistency
Pretty good lasting power (About 1 week before they started chipping)
Cute packaging
Very pigmented and opaque

CONS:
Certain colors like Saucy and Coral require a really good base coat otherwise it will stain your nails
Takes a little while for them to dry (in my opinion)
Some shades are a little too thick and I tend to put too much on one nail

Sally & Empire Beauty

I found a great beauty supply store in the SD area, I'm sure you San Diegans are aware of this store already but I just barely got around to discovering it myself. It's called Empire Beauty Supply and it's a chain beauty supply store across San Diego county. It's like your average beauty supply store except they have a ton of sales! A lot of their products are buy one get one for 50% off. This includes nail polishes such as China Glaze, OPI, Orly, Essie, and whatever else is there. And I know a lot of you go to Sally Beauty to purchase your OPI or China Glaze nail polishes. Nothing wrong with that but wouldn't you rather buy one and get another one for half off?! Now I've been to two Empire Beauty Supply stores and one of them did not sell any China Glaze nail polishes... yet! This was the one in Rancho San Diego so don't go there if you plan on purchasing China Glaze, I swear I'm saving you all the trouble! Instead, I went to the one in Grossmont Center and they do carry China Glaze and everything else.

So I didn't purchase much at Empire but I figure I might as well show you my haul anyway. I purchased China Glaze "Frostbite" for only $2.50 ( this was on sale for half off ) and I also purchased the Essie Matte About You nail polish for less than $10. Sally's was also having a sale with Seche Vite Base and Top Coat. Basically you get free top coat with a purchase of a base coat. And I love Seche Vite Top Coat. Definitely my favorite by far. I also needed nail polish remover so I bought Beauty Secrets acetone and a nail file by Soft Touch. That's all for now. I'm thinking of doing a look later today so stay tuned. (:

They have these coupons available at Sally's.

Review and Swatches: Claire's Pastel Nail Polish

I recently purchased this set of six pastel nail polishes from Claire's. If you don't know what Claire's is, it's a retail store that sells accessories, jewelry, and other fashionable items typically for the younger generation. I remember as a teeny bopper I would always shop at Claire's! This set of nail polishes really caught my eye because I'm such a junkie when it comes to rainbow colored... anything! And even though these were pastel, I knew they were gonna come out looking fabulous!

Before I go on to the review I just want to say how vibrant these colors are in real life. These colors would literally glow under a UV light! My camera does not do these swatches any justice and for you to actually get the full effect, you'd have to see it in person.

PRICE: $12.50 USD
SIZE: 0.25 fl. oz (7.5 ml) per container
VALUE FOR PRICE: 3/5 (roughly $2 per nail polish - $12.50/6 nail polishes = $2.08)
EASE OF USE: 4/5
PACKAGING: 3/5
MEETS EXPECTATIONS: 4/5
OVERALL USE: 4/5

PROS:
Colors are very vibrant and they all have a cream finish except for the purple. It has a slight shimmer to it. Nonetheless, all the colors are gorgeous!
Nice consistency, except for the first coat. After about two coats, the colors look very opaque which is a plus!
The price isn't too bad. You do get a variety of six different colors which are all amazing.
Quick drying.
    CONS:
The size per nail polish. You don't get a whole lot but again, the variety of colors replaces that.
The wand is pretty short. I like my nail polish wand to be fairly long for better control.
First coat is a little runny. Two coats is fine but I think three coats will be best to get the overall opaqueness of each color.
Not too sure yet on the lasting power but with any nail polish I recommend a good top coat.

      {Each swatch was about three coats of nail polish}
TOP L to R: a toned down hot pink, a gorgeous pastel orange or better yet a peachy gorgeous color, & perfect pastel yellow!
BOTTOM L to R: Perfect pastel green! I'm surprised this one doesn't look neon green, perfect pastel blue, what more can I say!? This last one is not a cream color but it's a lovely pastel purple that looks so dreamy in sunlight.

      OVERALL:
I love love LOVE each one of these nail polishes. I love this entire collection and the color choices are on point! These colors SCREAM Spring! I love the fact that it's not your typical neon colors (though I love me some neon!) But these are so perfect for the Spring season and with Easter not too far away, the color combinations are endless!

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT? Yes
      WOULD I PURCHASE AGAIN? Yes

      Nail Polishes Haul

I don't usually spend that much on nail polishes because I have short stubby nails and I could never do anything fancy shmancy to them. And I don't know if it's me but my nail polish start to chip within the next day. Maybe I'm just a "hands-on" type of person that I'm always bumping into things with my hands and working on things with them that they tend to chip. I also don't have the patience to wait for polish to dry. I get so impatient especially since I'm the type to always be doing something with my hands. For example, if I just painted my nails, within five minutes I'll end up needing something from inside my purse, inside a drawer, or I tend to do things that require hand movements and that's when my nail polish starts looking messed up and I end up with lines and chips in them.

Anyway, to make the long story even longer, I was telling Victor how I wanted to buy more China Glaze nail polishes but I never ended up buying any because I never wanted to fork out the money. Then today Victor shows up with a grip of China Glaze and some L.A. Colors and Santee nail polishes for me! And get this, they were only $1 each! And in case you were wondering this IS a store in San Diego, not online. So I'm sorry for those who don't live in the area. But for those who are in San Diego, I have to ask Victor where he bought it but he said it was in some dollar store or something. I'll let you guys know. :)
