UCSD VSA Culture Night 2009 (Picture Heavy)

Hi everyone, sorry no looks today but I was finally able to see the rest of the pictures from the fashion show. Hope you all enjoy!

Of course, these aren't ALL the pictures. There are plenty more in the link below. And I apologize that these pictures are in the wrong order but ever since I downloaded the latest version of Internet Explorer, I'm unable to drag pictures anymore. Oh well.

I've gotten a few questions regarding the fashion show I did so I decided to answer them on this post. (:

1.) How long did it take you to do make-up on all the girls?
• About 7 to 8 hours!! I believe I started on the first girl around 11AM and the show didn't start until 7. I was finished around 6:30PM. Not a lot of breaks were taken either.

2.) How did you match foundations with the different girls?
• Some of the ladies had brought their own foundation, so either I applied it for them, or they already had it on. I did do touch ups on concealer as well. Those who didn't bring any, I brought different shades of MAC & drugstore foundations and just went with what I felt best matched their skintone.

3.) Did you get paid for doing their makeup?
• Yes.

4.) How many girls did you do make-up for?
• 20 girls.

UCSD VSA Culture Night 2009

So I thought I'd take a break from homework and update my blog. I had a fun filled weekend and it was definitely an experience I'll never forget. I was contacted by one of the girls who was part of a fashion show for the UCSD VSA Culture Night. She asked if I could do make-up on the girls who were being part of the fashion show. I knew I couldn't pass up this opporunity and I'm glad I didn't. I felt right at home with these girls. They were just too sweet. And talk about gorgeous! (:

This isn't all the pictures that were taken that night. I know there are many more to come. I just wanted to post pictures since my camera and the photographers camera were the only ones that have a group shot of them. I can't wait to see the professional pictures. I know my camera just doesn't do its justice.

Just Trying to Practice Cutting the Crease

I wish I was better at cutting the crease. I'm still trying different techniques and I still haven't found one that I can actually stick with. Blehhhh, it came out really messy. I don't know what other techniques there are to do. Any suggestions??

My trick is to use eyeliner but it doesn't seem to come out as "clean" as I expect it to be. I must not be doing something right. Mehhhh. Oh well...

LOOK: Mermaid Inspired

It's not really mermaid inspired hehehe. But it's been a while since I did a look using color and when I got done with this I kind of rememberd that I did a look similar to this already. (you can find that look here)

I don't know it's me or if I'm losing ideas but I just replicated my own look. How does that happen? Anyway, of the two, I like this one better. I think the other blending sucked. (which is why I chose to keep my blog -- to see my improvement =])

Everyday Look Using Coastal Scents 28 Neutral Palette

Besides my drag look I did for Mimi's contest, I haven't posted any looks in a long time. I was honestly thinking of deleting my blog but I decided not to because someday I'd probably want look back at my work and see the progression on how I've improved in make-up.

But anywaaaaay, I wanted to show you guys a look that I do on a daily basis like when I go to school & what not. I used the Coastal Scents 28 Neutral Palette to do this look. Hope you like it (:
