Quick Post: Subtle Smokey EOTD

Here's another quick eye look I did the other day that I snapped with my iPhone. This whole weekend I've been going out with really simple or neutral eye makeup and this is what I had on yesterday. I ended up really loving this look because of the fact that I played it safe on the "smokey" part. I usually go all out on smokey eyes so I was really pleased by going subtle on it. I'm thinking of doing a tutorial on it. We'll see! Happy Sunday everyone. :)

Classic Red Lips with Simple Eye Makeup

I decided to go with really simple eyes the other day because I wanted to play up my lips. At first I had a really pretty deep fuchsia lip color that I customized myself mixing a purple and red lipstick (gotta remind myself to use this lip color for future looks, it's really pretty!). Then I decided to go with a classic red lip for the night out. Super simple and very easy to do! I don't usually pull off red lips or bold lips for that matter. Hopefully I've pulled it off! :)

Sultry Eye Makeup Look & Tutorial

I'm cheating right now because I said I wouldn't blog until I get some work done for my Statistics class. I'm down to the last week of this class so it's really stressing me out! I really needed to get my mind off of it so I spent a little bit of time editing this tutorial and working on this post. I did this look not too long ago and I think it turned out really muddy and sloppy! I really tried to like it but it just wasn't working for me so by the time I finished recording the tutorial I ended up taking it off haha. I was really hesitant about posting it because I just don't like it very much but then I thought maybe others might appreciate it. Dark lids and lighter creases still don't come that natural to me. I definitely gotta practice doing looks like these more often.

Smokey Purple With a Pop of Yellow

I did this look on Friday night before I went out with my mister. I have this really bad habit of doing my makeup before I even know what I'm going to wear. So by the time I'm done with my face, that's when I realize that I don't have anything to match or that goes with what I just did. I do this all the time! I guess doing my makeup is more fun than actually dressing up and that's why it happens to me a lot. But as always, I hardly ever plan my makeup ahead of time. The only time I think about what look I'm going for is the moment I sit down in front of all my makeup. So per usual, this was basically a spur of the moment look and I hope you all like it. Hope everyone is enjoying the rest of their weekend! :)

Quick Post: Inspired EOTD

I did this look merely for fun because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone because it's been a while since I pulled off a bright color like this. I was really inspired by Fashionista804 on YouTube. I'm not sure what she used exactly but I just decided to use whatever shadows I had on hand. This was taken on my iPhone through the Instagram app (Follow me! Username: damnyoufine). The blue came out really bright and I almost didn't want to walk out my house with it on because it's just been so long since I've done something like this. But I thought that if other people were brave enough to do it then I should too. What better way to express my love for my makeup than to go bold, right? Anyway, I just thought I would share it here as well since I really like how it came out. :) Sorry I don't have any real pictures to show off this look. I really didn't plan on blogging about it.

Products Used:
Blanc Type on the entire lid
MAC Off the Radar pigment [LE] applied to the crease (any burnt orange color will work)
MAC Coppering eyeshadow applied right over the orange to give it more warmth
Urban Decay Electric eyeliner applied to the lower lash line and lower waterline
Inglot #371 matte eyeshadow applied on top of the liner to set it
Wet N Wild Creme Liner
False eyelashes from Bornprettystore.com Style #004

EcoTools Brushes Review

This set of EcoTools brushes is from The Everyday Collection that comes with five brushes and a case. EcoTools are not only great quality brushes at an affordable price, but also they are made of natural and recycled materials that are Earth-friendly and 100% cruelty-free. So by purchasing these brushes you’re not only getting more for what you pay for because of the multifunctional use of them, you’re also doing your part by helping the planet!

These brushes are made of really soft synthetic taklon bristles, bamboo handles, and recycled aluminum ferrules. The case itself is made of natural cotton and hemp that makes on-the-go organization for your brushes really simple and easy to use.

I bought this particular brush set because I thought every brush in it would give me more uses than what they are intended for. I'm all about versatility and I hardly ever use my brushes JUST for what their intended purpose is, which is why I thought this set would be perfect for me. For example, blending brushes aren't just great for blending out eyeshadow. I love using them as actual concealer brushes because it blends in nicely without looking cakey!

This set is particularly great for traveling or for on-the-go purposes because of the lightweight brushes and compact size (just about the length of my hand) but I do reach for them quite often when I'm doing my daily makeup routine. This brush set is retailed for about $10 and can be purchased at drugstores such as Walmart, Walgreens, and Riteaid.

This kit includes:
□ Concealer Brush - Great for applying concealer or packing on eyeshadow and pigments to the eyelid.

□ Eye Shading Brush - Great for applying a single color eyeshadow quickly across your eyelids. Blends out harsh lines easily and works great for applying color to your crease or highlight.

□ Detailer Brush - Can be used as a lip, eyeliner, or for a precision concealer brush. Can also be used for applying color to the inner corner of your eyes or for smudging eyeliner.

□ Angled Eyeliner Brush - Can be used for applying gel or cream liners, filling in eyebrows, or for applying precise concealer.

□ Angled Blush Brush - Great for applying brush and bronzer and can easily blend out any harsh lines.

□ On-the-Go Brush Case - Brushes fit perfectly into the case and makes it great for traveling while keeping your brushes all intact and clean.

Warm Eyes For Fall

I haven't done a tutorial in a while and I knew I wanted this next one to be fall inspired so this is the look I came up with the other day. I would consider it a subtle smokey eye since it's not fully smothered in black eyeshadow but you can definitely smoke it out a lot more for more drama. I'm really looking forward to this fall season. As much as I love Summer, there's no better feeling than getting cozy and warm than feeling hot and sweaty. Haha! Anyway, more fall/smokey looks should be coming up soon so stay tuned! :)

Summer to Fall Transitional Look

For some of you who are still in school, Summer may be over for you now. I'm more of a literal person so Summer isn't technically over for me until September 23rd, but I am looking forward to this Fall season. I'm over this San Diego heat and I'm ready to wear my boots, cardigans, and scarves again. I like doing looks based on what season it is but I don't usually abide by this rule all the time. However, I tend to do more colorful looks in the Spring and Summer and more smokey looks in the Fall and Winter.

I did this look not knowing whether to do a Summer look or a Fall look so I decided to do an "inbetweenie". So I went for something a little bit smokey but still had a playful color to it. This look was completely done unintentionally. I didn't plan any colors ahead of time so I used a variety of colors from different brands of makeup I have. Hope you all enjoy it. Thanks! :)
